Ford-Kenya leaders among them founding officials have revealed their plan to pull out of the opposition pact, NASA saying the party’s support for the opposition risks plunging them into political oblivion.

The officials at the party’s Kisumu wing led by the  Vice Chairman Felix Minda, have held that their merger into the formation of the National Super Alliance saw the party derailed in its internal processes and that their exit is meant to prepare Ford-K for proper alignment for 2022.

While demanding that their party is set free from NASA, the officials admitted having realized that their party had sharply lost popularity in the country due to delving so much into the coalition affairs while they abandoned critical tasks that could see it grow.

“The elections are over and now we want our party back. There is a lot we can do in preparation for 2022 and the National Chairman Joel Ruhu must now take full control and have the pending activities conducted,” said Mr Minda.

He noted that Ford Kenya was now nearing deregistration for failing to meet the political party standards that require a party to have at least 25 branches in at least 25 counties nationwide.

Registration of party members, celebration of the party’s silver jubilee and setting up of devolved offices were tasks the officials say had been shelved by their leaders who they accused of burying their heads into NASA affairs MPs, two governors and Senator Moses Wetangula, who is a principal in the coalition.
