The opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) boat seems to be capsizing as a result of its recent challenges.

NASA co-leader Moses Wetangula, on Saturday, declared war on the alliance supremo Raila Odinga over alleged betrayal and mistreatment.

Wetangula revealed that he will now embark on a mission to politically harass Odinga in retaliation to his Orange Democratic Party (ODM) assault.

Though quite justifiable, since he is still nursing his recent unceremonious ejection as the Senate Minority Leader, by ODM senators, Wetangula's threats are baseless and unimplementable.

His Ford-Kenya party is the weakest in the alliance, unlike ODM which runs the minority wing in both legislative houses, raising questions on how he will fight a stronger and well reinforced opponent.

Despite tagging his counterpart Musalia Mudavadi along, in the battle against the former Prime Minister, Wetangula has ignored the fact that Odinga has outdone them in their own Western region bedrock and ,actually, has more seats than the two of them combined.

The Bungoma Senator is also unlikely to have any solid backing in his new endeavour,  apart from his few lieutenants.

He has been deserted by a section of his tribesmen, including Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, who have thrown their weight behind the recent pact between Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta, asking him to follow suit.

He seems to be keen on learning from his own mistakes, otherwise he would have consulted Mudavadi, who tried a similar thing in the 2013 polls only to come back running.

Lastly, the Orange party leader is now likely to be fortified by leaders from the government side and their supporters, a backing which, in addition to his national support, is just enough to overcome Wetangula's attempts.
