Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi now wants Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party evicted from the NASA coalition.
The Wiper legislator argues that ODM is abusing other affiliate parties in the NASA coalition.
Speaking to journalists at Kalisasi in Mwingi Central on Wednesday, the MP said that Raila’s party wants to quit the coalition and must be given space to go.
He said that the Orange Party’s senators move to gang up and oust Bungma senator Moses Wetangula as the senate minority leader was abusive.
Mulyungi said that is was disrespectful of the highest order for the ODM senators to petition Wetangula’s removal without consulting or involving the NASA summit.
“Raila’s Orange party must leave NASA and join Jubilee if they have agreed to work with the government for their selfish gains,” he said as quoted by a local daily.
The MP said that ODM continued stay in NASA will be disastrous for the push for electoral reforms and justice in the country.
He said that Raila’s party was never serious in the reforms agenda and that it duped its supporters.
The MP asked NASA principals to convene and reinstate the Bungoma senator as the senate minority leader.
Wetangula was ousted on Tuesday after eighteen NASA senators mostly from ODM voted to have him replaced by Siaya senator James orengo.
The Ford Kenya Party leader ouster has elicited reactions with political analysts arguing that it will affect ODM leader Raila Odinga’s future political plans.
NASA summit is expected to convene to discuss Wetangula’s ouster plus other key issues that are threatening the coalition fall.
