Bloody semen can be normal. The reddish tinge in your semen whenever you ejaculate could be caused by a condition referred to as hematospermia.

According to David R. Paolone, an associate professor of urology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, medical experts are not certain of the exact causes of hematospermia. The good news is that the condition normally stops with time.

If you find it uncomfortable, then it can be a wise idea to seek medical attention as soon as possible. The doctor will test your urine, examine your urinary organs as well as genitals before taking any step.

A check of the blood pressure could also reveal why there is blood in your semen. One of the common causes of blood in semen is inflammation of the urethra, prostate or your seminal vesicles.

The semen can also be bloody if you feel a burning sensation whenever you are urinating. If you have been experiencing these issues then the doctor could examine your urinary tract to determine whether it has an infection.

The other common causes of blood in your semen include prostate stones, bleeding disorders, and high blood pressure.
