Don't stress over keeping up a life you can't afford. [Photo/123rf.com] Oh, the pressure you put on yourself! Buying clothes you can't afford, living in a house with rent that's killing you. Why? Because you thought it would 'elevate' your social standing. Hhmmm!
Let's not rush this, let's just look at it step by step. You're living in a house that proves difficult to make rent, you can barely afford those shoes and clothes but you buy them anyway to fit a certain social class. You then make your hair and buy a car and it is getting quite difficult to maintain both. Even if it kills you and stresses you out all the time, you just keep doing it. There is this constant need to show the world that you're worth much even if you aren't. Hhmmm! Now I wonder, between your happiness and keeping up appearances, what's more important? What is your peace of mind worth to you? The answer to both questions explains what you do. It is so much easier to live a life you can afford. It takes so much pressure off you. Not exaggerating doesn't mean your life is 'bad'. It actually makes it simpler. There are so many beautiful shoes, clothes, hair and houses that you can get at your budget. Accept where you are and stay on your lane. The only thing you shouldn't accept is remaining dormant. Keep growing.
