Residents in Uasin Gishu county have been advised to develop a habit of using condoms.This is in what Uasin Gishu county director of health services Evans Kiprotich says will help reduce chances of one being infected by HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases."I want to call upon resident not to shy away from using condoms since there is 98 percent chances of preventing one from being infected with HIV/AIDS," Kiprotich said in Eldoret on Tuesday."As a county government we have ensured that in every health facility we have free condoms, we want to prevent residents from being affected by this deadly disease. Our aim is to have zero infection," he added.Kiprotich further advised residents to always go for regular HIV tests so as to know their status."It's good for one to know his/her status early so that in case they are infected they can starts treatment early and if not will be advised on how to live negatively.I also urge residents not to stimatize people living with HIV/AIDS since if not infected you are affected in one way or the other," he said.
