1. It inhibits iron absorption - Many research shows that drinking tea after supper inhibits both uptake and absorption of iron. As you drink more tea also ensure that you take enough of iron-rich foods such as liver, meat, fish, brown rice, beans among others.

2. Excessive consumption of chai affects stomach secretions such as Hydrochloric acid, stomach acid which sterilizes food and prevent harmful bacteria from entering the gastrointestinal tract. It will also prevent the production of enzymes which aids in digestion.

3. It has anti-thiamine action and thiamine inactivation - This means that tea blocks the action of Vitamin B1 intake and absorption in your body.

4. It has a diuretic action- This upsets sodium and potassium balance in favor of sodium in your body. Thus limiting the amount of potassium in your body.

5. It limits the available minerals in your tissues such as the blood and epithelial tissues depriving one of the necessary minerals that aid body functioning.
