Kisii Senator Sam Kagengo Ongeri has urged residents to snub the repeat presidential election set for Thursday, October 26, 2017.

Speaking during a NASA rally at Gusii Stadium, Ongeri said Kenyans should boycott the polls because IEBC has failed to address the missteps identified by the Supreme Court in the nullification of August 8 election.

"Everyone said there was a problem with the election and we should not vote in such state. Until those mistakes are rectified, people shall not vote on 26th. I do not want you to go into darkness," Ongeri said.

Speaking at the same rally, NASA leader Raila Odinga asked Kenyans to stay at home on Thursday.

"Let us not shame our heroes and heroines Chief Justice David Maraga and former IEBC commissioner Roselyne Akombe for standing up for justice. Do not take part in the October 26 fresh presidential poll," Raila remarked.

But speaking in Nairobi on Monday, President Uhuru Kenyatta urged his supporters to turn up in large numbers and re-elect him.

"Let's all come out and vote on Thursday so that we can send Raila home. We need to have the election so as to continue with Jubilee’s development agenda," the President said.
