It's a sad fact that most people tend to disrespect single moms, especially in the Kenyan society. They are viewed as irresponsible women with no morals which is not always the case. Some single moms are single because their husbands died, or their baby daddies were too irresponsible to care for their children.
Besides being a product of a single mum, I have also seen many great single moms who are fighters and are the exact opposite of what the society portrays them to be. If they by chance happen to meet with the right man, these women make the best wives.
Some characteristics that make single moms the best to marry include;
Independence
Since the day her baby daddy abandoned her, she has gone through so much that she has learned the art of never depending on anyone for anything. A single mom pays the rent, school fees, medical bills and caters for all the needs of her family. She knows she has no one to look up to and is thus self-dependent. She will never bother you asking you to take her out for dinner since she has learned to take her family out by herself.
Hardworking
No single mom can even afford to be lazy. She wakes up early in the morning, does all the household chores, prepares her kids for school then she is off to work. In the evening, she ensures her kids are well fed and that the homework is well done all by herself. Who wouldn't love such a wife anyway?
Perseverance
A single mum has been through challenges and she has handled them all by herself. She, therefore, won't run away the moment your salary is delayed or you lose your job. She has been left alone when she needed someone most and therefore knows the value of standing by someone in times of need.
Loving
Having played the role of a daddy and mom at the same time, she knows just how well to love and care. She loves her kids unconditionally and she will do the same for you, but if only you deserve it.She will not waste the chance to love and be loved for love is what she has been yearning for.
