Uasin Gishu county Gospel Ministries chairman Wilson Kirui on Sunday called on the national and county governments to widen roads in areas marked as black spots.

Speaking in Eldoret, Kirui said more bumps should be erected in the areas where many accidents have occurred especially along the Eldoret - Nakuru highway.

"Our people are dying through road accidents. The roads are not safe anymore because they are too narrow. The government should widen the roads as this may help drivers escape accidents to prevent loss of lives," said Kirui.

He said clerics should pray for the country due to the increased number of people dying in road crashes.

"It is time for churches to come together and pray for the nation. Let us put God first because He controls everything", added Kirui.

The last three days alone have seen more than 50 people perish in road accidents in the country.
