Ruth Irungu, the widow of Gerlad Wanjahi, narrated how armed gunmen attacked her home on Wednesday.
According to Irungu,a gang of about 30 people came to her house looking specifically for her husband.
"They wore military regalia and had AK-47 rifles and machetes. They knocked several times on the door and ordered us to come out of their house but we did not," she said as quoted by The Star.
From there the gunmen broke into the house and dragged her husband out of their bedroom
“I escaped as they approached the bedroom since they were only interested in my husband. I hid in the roof but could hear everything. My husband screamed and then silence followed. That’s when I knew they had slaughtered him,” she said.
The widow says after killing the husband the gang left immediately.
“When I went back, there was blood everywhere and my husband’s body was covered with clothes and boxes. I went out of the house and screamed for help.”
“It was around 2 am by then. No one came until around 5 am. One by one they came to see what had happened," she said.
