Residents of Maralala Town have been left in deep shock after a woman killed her husband over his long addiction to alcohol, Nation reports.
The man, Zachary Wambugu, was killed by his wife following a domestic quarrel.
The deceased was allegedly stabbed in his thigh by the accused and he died on Sunday morning after efforts to rescue him failed.
The deceased, who died at the Samburu County Referral Hospital while undergoing treatment, is said to have been a drug addict before he met his tragic death.
The couple’s 10-year-old daughter claimed that her mother had killed the father after attacking him in the wee hours of the morning.
Police officers found a knife used in committing the crime hidden under the pillow after visiting the home of the deceased as per one Mr Humphrey Onyango, a friend to the deceased.
"Earlier on, the suspect insisted that her husband had been attacked and injured as he returned home at around 3am from a nearby club. After a thorough search in the house, the officers found a blood stained knife hidden under her pillow," said Mr Onyango
Confirming the incident Samburu Central Office r Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Abagarro Guyo, said that the suspected has been arrested, adding that investigations are going on.
"The suspect has been apprehended and police officers are conducting further investigations into the matter to unravel what could have transpired before the incident," said Mr Guyo.
The body was later transferred to Samburu County referral hospital's mortuary pending investigations.
