A magistrate's court in Mombasa on Friday sentenced Hania Said Sagar to 10 years imprisonment after she was found guilty of participating in a terrorist attack at the Mombasa Central police station two years ago.
Hania Said who is the widow to slain terror suspect Sheikh Aboud Rogo, was handed the sentence by the Shanzu Magistrate's Court after evidence showed that she conspired with three women to attack the police station on 11th September 2016, before the duo were killed by the police in the attack.
In October 2016, the widow was charged before Shanzu Principal Magistrate Diana Mochache alongside Luul Ali Tahil, Nasteho Ali Tahil and Zamzam Abdi Abdullahi.
They were accused of conspiring with the three deceased women to attack the police station and failing to disclose to the police to prevent the terror attack.
The vehicle of the late Rogo was spread with bullets by unknown assailants near Mtwapa, killing him on the spot in August 2012.
