Uasin Gishu gubernatorial succession politics has intensified ahead of the 2022 polls.
This is barely a year after the hotly contested gubernatorial seat between Governor Jackson Mandago and billionaire businessman, Bundotich Kiprob alias Buzeki in the 2017 general elections.
Mandago emerged the winner garnering more votes slightly ahead of Buzeki who had given him nightmares during the entire electioneering period.
The question on who will succeed him remains for the Uasin Gishu residents to decide.
However, clear indications show Buzeki will probably be the next Uasin Gishu governor since he was Manago's only match for the seat.
Mandago had burried the hatchet with Buzeki and both announced they would put their political differences aside and work together for the sake of effective service delivery to the Uasin Gishu residents.
It, however, seems that Mandago is not bothered with Buzeki's support to his administration and some may argue the governor is somehow preparing the latter to succeed him.
The duo has been in many ocassions seen attending same functions together, promising services to the locals.
While addressing the public in Moiben last Sunday, Buzeki said he will keep his pre-election campaign pledge of helping Mandago's administration serve locals better by helping bring in more investors using his business networks.
"I had said that the loser in this race should back the winner. We lost and I had promised that if Mandago won I would give him 200 percent support but now I increase that to 300 percent support," Buzeki said.
Though the 2022 politics is still far, those eyeing the seat are busy preparing themselves as equally witnessed by their counterparts battling for the presidential seat.
