The leaders claim that the current IEBC commissioners are biased and favor Jubilee government. They also claim that the commissioners are corrupt and therefore, they should leave office before the 2017 elections.

For this reason, Kenyans have questions in their mind as to whether the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) disbandment will translate into a win for Cord in 2017.

Moses Masasati is a Cord supporter from Kisii county who during an interview on Wednesday at his kiosk said that he has been Cord supporter in the last 9 years now but he doubts that his coalition will form the next government.

"I fully support Cord but when it comes to elections I am not very sure. The move by the opposition leaders to push for the IEBC disbandment will not guarantee the leaders will form the next government in 2017. Instead, Cord should concentrate on mobilising people from their stronghold to register as voters and come 2017, they will be voted in large numbers. Politics is all about numbers," he remarked.

He added that IEBC disbandment is a waste of time and Cord is likely to lose in 2017.

James Motari also argued that the new commissioners who will take office after the current ones will be more biased and this may bring chaos during elections.

He has urged Kenyans to engage in mature politics and stop concentrating on issues that may plunge the  country to violence.
