ODM party leader Rala Odinga has dismissed claims that his Nasa co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka is planning to go it alone in the 2017 general polls.

Raila said that as a coalition, they were working together to pick a single candidate and that they will ensure whoever is picked in Nasa gets the support of everyone else.

Asked about whether Kalonzo would break from the coalition and run alone, and if that would break Nasa, Raila said that this was an impossibility.

He said he had trust in the Wiper leader and that whatever was being said in the media was not true.

"I have no reason to believe that Hon Kalonzo will go it alone. He has been very clear that he is in NASA to stay and I have no reason to second-guess him," he said.

He added that it was only the media that was speaking of a Kalonzo exodus, and that this was something worth suspicion.

"Kalonzo has addressed press conferences and public rallies including last weekend where he stated categorically that he is in NASA. Why the media insists that he is leaving, why the media want to speak for him is something we cannot understand," he said.

However, reports indicate that Kalonzo skipped an important Nasa meeting that was to be held on Tuesday in the coalition's bid to get a presidential flagbearer.
