Before one is endorsed, they must be fully trusted to lead the team now that the commissioners who were in office were asked to vacate after being accused of corruption and favouring one political side.

Retired Anglican Church Archbishop Eliud Wabukala led his church in a peaceful leadership and after his retirement, elections were done and he transferred his leadership to his successor in peace.

Wabukala has been in the forefront fighting for peace in Kenya and the region and perhaps that is why he has viewed as a possible and suitable replacement of Isaack Hassan and his team.

Even though Wabukala has no experience in heading an electoral commission, he has been endorsed for the post. Leaders such as Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria have been quoted saying that the man of cloth was the best suited to lead IEBC in 2017.
