John Pombe Magufuli and Raila Odinga have the relationship of the Siamese twins; they are definitely joined at the hip in a tight friendship influenced by their socialist orientation.
Nothing demonstrates this friendship than the decision by Raila to often cool it off in the beaches of Zanzibar recently.
There were also allegations that Raila had plans to swear himself in Tanzania prior to the announced 12th December 2017 "swearing in."
President Magufuli's relationship with Kenya seems to be sore with him choosing to skip the inauguration of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The question on many minds is whether President Magufuli will, in turn, choose to attend Raila's " swearing in " on December 12.
More intriguing will be Kenya's reaction if such a move is carried out.
Recently, President Magufuli auctioned Kenyan cows and burned thousands of chicken which had crossed the border to Tanzania.
In a move that was seen to spite Magufuli, Uhuru announced a move to all East Africans to come and work in Kenya without restrictions. Such a move will fly in the face of Magufuli for trying to lock Kenyans out of Tanzania.
As we wait for December 12, we have to hold our breath to see if Magufuli will be invited.
