Baringo senator Gideon Moi has praised Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua stating he is a great leader to work with.

Both Moi and Mutua have expressed their interests in contesting for the Presidency in 2022.

Moi took his praises to his Facebook page referring to the Machakos Governor as 'great leader of peace'.

There are speculations in Machakos County that the two might form a coalition to jointly battle it out to Statehouse ahead of the next general elections.

Governor Mutua reportedly met Moi after the Machakos High Court upheld his August 2017 elections victory following former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti's petition recently.

Residents believe the two met to strategize on the 2022 politics.

Mutua has been severally quoted saying he will be on the Presidential ballot in 2022, "I will vie for the top seat as the President of the Republic of Kenya in 2022. I am able and have a dream for Kenya," he said during an interview at Citizen Extra on February 12, 2018.

His meeting with Moi who also eyes for the same position could lead to a political partnership, "With senator Gideon Moi, we had great exchange of ideas," Mutua wrote on his Facebook page after the meeting.

The duo might face strong political opposition from their backyards since Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Deputy President William Ruto who are kingpins from Ukambani and Rift Valley regions respectively where the two hail have also declared their interests in the top seat.

Gideon Moi and Alfred Mutua have been friends for long .
