A recent survey on the preferred NASA presidential candidate seems to be causing friction with the newly formed coalition.

According to the poll by Infotrack Harris, Cord leader Raila Odinga was the preferred flagbearer among opposition supporters.

Speaking to a local daily, a section of Members of Parliament from Wiper dismissed the poll stating that Odinga was not the only candidate to beat President Uhuru Kenyatta.

MPs Charles Nyamai (Kitui Rural) and Makali Mulu (Kitui Central) have questioned the timing of the survey methodology.

“We read a lot of political mischief in this poll because it doesn’t reflect the reality on the ground and every Nasa supporter knows an Odinga-led ticket cannot deliver victory for the Opposition,” Mr. Nyamai is quoted by Nation.

According to the lawmakers, the poll was meant to manipulate the Nasa coordinating committee which was tasked with identifying a preferred presidential candidate.
