Wanjiru who spoke during an interview on KTN television said she is the best candidate to carry the Jubilee Party flag during the polls.

She said even Senator Mike Sonko does not have the capacity to marshal votes and trounce against Dr Kidero.

"Am the best candidate for Jubilee," she said.

"I have been part of the team that formed the party and I was present during the launch. The best that Sonko can do is deputise me. I cannot deputise him."

The race has attracted some of the city's high-profile politicians including Wanjiru, Sonko, Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru.

Others include businesswoman Esther Passaris, former Nairobi Town Clerk Philip Kisia and former adviser to ODM leader Raila Odinga Miguna Miguna.

Sonko, who recently graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Kenya Methodist University has President Uhuru Kenyatta's backing while Mr Wamalwa is being supported by Deputy President William Ruto.
