Opposition activist Miguna Miguna now says that Deputy President William Ruto is undoubtedly headed for a win in the approaching 2022 presidential election.
In a tweet Tuesday, Miguna said that nothing stands between the DP and his ambition, noting that he has since succeeded in laying out foundations to ensure that he succeeds President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The National Resistance Movement (NRM) self-declared General said that Ruto's fate is sealed, a victory he, however, said stands unaffected by the ongoing political activities, including the recent truce between Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
"Let me say this for the sake of those who don't know or are too dishonest to say openly, William Ruto's 2022 fate is sealed but not by the 'hand cheque', that is just a distraction," he said.
He vowed to take it upon himself to prevent the same, promising to lead the NRM in not only preventing Ruto from realizing his dream, but to take down his accomplices as well.
"Our duty as the NRM is to defeat Ruto and those who have sealed his fate," he added.
Ruto who has deputized President Kenyatta for two consecutive terms is expected to take a shot at the post on the ruling Jubilee Party ticket.
