After transforming the Judiciary and breaking several traditions in the corridors of justice and even wearing an earing during his tenure, Mutunga is it again.
Totally unexpected from a man of his stature, Mutunga on Friday took activist Boniface Mwangi for a lunch meal at a local 'kibanda' in Nairobi.
The activist was full of praise to the retired CJ and took to his facebook page to express his admiration to Mutunga.
"My mentor Willy Mutunga bought me lunch today because #BonifaceMwangiUnBounded has gone to print. Took him to my local. The retired Chief Justice Mutunga makes retirement look easy. He is enjoying himself and having fun while others want to die in office," Mwangi wrote.
Mutunga retired earlier this year leaving the office vacant with the Judicial Service Commission working hard to find his successor in recent weeks.
