Gospel sensation Willy Paul did the unthinkable at the annual Groove awards ceremony that was held on Sunday 24th June at the Kasarani Stadium.
Willy Paul won the video of the year award for his hit song Jigi jigi that was produced by Teddy B and video directed by Sammy Dee of True D pictures.
However, he decided to give the award to his close friend who is a signed artist at Genius records.
Weezdom had also been nominated in the same category as willy paul for his song Amka ucheze featuring Janet Otieno.
"Thank you all for making me a winner.My brother weezdom has really been working hard day and night ..so i just want to encourage him, that is why i just gave him the award.we have come a long way.Thank you sammy Dee for directing and making Jigi jigi the best video.I'd also like to thank alainesinga for encouraging me to go ahead and release the song jigi jigi as a solo project.Thank you all," said willy Paul after receiving the award.
Weezdom and Willy Paul hail from the same hood, Mathare and have been close friends for a long time.
