KNUT Secretary Wilson Sossion has been blocked from accessing KNUT headquarters.
This comes four days after the high court issued orders temporarily barring the registrar of trade unions and TSC from removing or de-registering Wilson Sossion as Knut secretary general.
Judge Maureen Onyango ordered the registrar of trade unions, TSC and Knut deputy SG Hesbon Otieno to file their responses before May 9 and appear for hearing on May 10.
"A temporary prohibition order is hereby issued barring the respondents from registering, appointing, recognizing, putting or placing any person as Knut secretary general in place of Sossion pending the hearing of the application," declared the judge.
Wilson Sossion through his lawyer James Orengo had moved to court on May 1st 2018 . Speaking during Labour Day celebrations, Sossion said he was elected by the teachers to represent them as KNUT secretary general and nobody can remove him from office until his term comes to an end.
Last Saturday Members of the Kenya National Union of Teachers stormed union headquarters in Nairobi demanding the removal of Sossion . They had been represented by Union Executive council and Assistant Secretary-general Hesbon Otieno . They accused Sossion of not representing them adequately because he is also serving as a nominated member of parliament.
It is not clear why Sessions is being blocked against the court order.
