Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has called on the adjustment of the constitution in the future a bid to deal with the winner takes it all during national elections.

According to Cheruiyot, the constitution should be amended so that the opposition leader gets an office to accomodate him and his supporters.

In his view, such a move will expunge feelings of exclusion from the people and make them comfortable irregardless of the person who becomes the president.

"There are some aspects of the constitution that should be adjusted to deal with the winner takes it all in terms of the country's governorship. For example, the opposition leader should have an office where he or she can be able to do his work and get access to certain government information," reterated Cheruiyot.

The senator however disagreed with National Super Alliance (NASA) calls for the peoples Assembly to try and hold a referendum of amending some sections of the constitution at the moment.

In fact, he alleged that the aim of amending the constitution is a game plan for NASA to get hold of power.

"There is no need for constitutional amendment in the country at the moment. The people's assembly by NASA is a game plan whose end gain is to achieve power," added Cheruiyot.

He made his remarks on Wednesday during Cheche show on Citizen TV.
