[Photo|jambonewspot.com]Opposition leader Raila Odinga's daughter Winnie Odinga has claimed that her driver was turned away from Mama Lucy Hospital after being shot during a NASA rally in Embakasi, Tuesday. According to Winnie, John Ogwati was shot in the head from close range by a teargas launcher and was rushed to the hospital by friends who were wearing "Resist Tshirts".Winnie noted that the hospital staff refused to attend to Ogwati saying "we don't treat watu wa Baba hapa." She added that two other people believed to be Nasa supporters who were injured by police were also chased away from the facility. The driver was then moved to another hospital. "Today my driver John Ogwati was shot in the head from close range by a Teargas launcher. After falling to the ground he was then trampled on. He was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital by friends who were wearing "Resist Tshirts". Posted Winnie on her Facebook page, Tuesday. "The staff upon seeing this group, which included John bleeding profusely from his head, informed the patient, "we don't treat watu wa Baba hapa." He has since been moved to another facility. (Two other patients who were injured by police and taken to that facility were also chased away.)" Winnie added.
