The flooring of Benard Kiala by Wavinya Ndeti in Wiper primaries are still questionable despite their repeat. One of the people who still has an issue with the results is Machakos senator Johnson Muthama who believes that the process was not free and fair.

He said that Kiala wasted over half a million then lately realized that Wiper had agreed with Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) to have Wavinya as the sole gubernatorial candidate in Machakos.

“Wiper had an agreement with CCU to have Wavinya Ndeti as a sole gubernatorial candidate. This was upheld even after Bernard Kiala paid 550,000 for nominations,” said Muthama.

Speaking during a live interview, Muthama said that this was unfair and complaints from concerned parties forced Wiper National Election Board (NEB) to call Kiala and apologize. He complained that this was an act that denied Kiala and the electorate their democratic right.

The deputy governor lost twice to Ndeti but Muthama says that the party should have appreciated his (Kiala’s) fight with Governor Mutua on behalf of Wiper by holding credible nominations.

He also said Kivutha Kibwana was given unwarranted caution against his competitors by the party. The senator said that if Wiper does not change its operating principles then it will fall.
