Former Wiper party Secretary General Hassan Omar has advised IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba to resign and allow the country to hold a rerun with the electoral leadership that both Jubilee and NASA will front.

Speaking on Citizen TV during the JKL show, the former senator said that his friend Chiloba should give room for peaceful polls.

"I have nothing but respect for Chiloba, having worked closely with him previously but on this, he will do this country well if he steps aside and allows a process that is agreed upon by both parties to proceed," Omar said as quoted by the Star.

Meanwhile, Omar said that County 001 will have a by-election soon. He has challenged the win by ODM deputy party leader Hassan Joho on the grounds of excess election malpractices.

"We will have a by-election in Mombasa county before the year ends, there was fault in the Mombasa vote, just like in other parts of the country and people in my secretariat felt that there was something wrong with the results," Omar said.
