Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja has warned NASA politicians against pressuring Kalonzo Musyoka to take oath as the people’s deputy president.
Samboja claims that Kalonzo is under pressure to take oath the government has termed illegal and highly treasonous.
Speaking to journalists on Saturday at his Voi office, Samboja said that Kalonzo should be left alone to decide on whether he will take the oath or not.
“I think Kalonzo Musyoka is under pressure and duress to take an oath he is himself does not want to take,” he said.
Samboja said that Raila’s January 30 inauguration was not backed by law, adding that Kalonzo has every right to be afraid.
He asked the Wiper leader to stand his grounds and not be intimidated by the illegal oath.
The Wiper governor who is accused of being friendly to Jubilee also asked Kalonzo to start strategizing in regards to his 2022 presidential bid.
Kalonzo is said to be at crossroads in regards to being sworn in as the people’s deputy president.
The former Vice President skipped Raila’s swearing in on January 30 and has been under criticism from NASA politicians and supporters.
Kalonzo has several times maintained that he is not afraid of being sworn in even as claims emerge that NASA is on the verge of collapsing.
On Saturday, during the burial of Dr Lennon Mwambura in Kikambala, Kilifi county, Kalonzo said that he is committed to NASA reforms agenda.
Kalonzo also refuted claims that there are cracks in NASA threatening the coalition existence.
