Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja has broken his silence over why he attended a Jubilee rally in Voi on Tuesday.The county boss said that his main mission is ensuring that residents of Taita Taveta benefit from the fruits of devolution and not suffer because of cheap politics being spread by different politicians in the nation.He said he is willing to work with the Jubilee administration to ensure his people benefit from different development projects.“I’m here as the county president to welcome the national President. I’m not interested in cheap politics. What concerns me is the development of our county and alleviating poverty,” said Samboja, as quoted by The Star.Mwaboza, who was elected on a Wiper Party ticket, said he will not hesitate to welcome his party boss if he visits the county, adding that it is his duty as a governor to welcome different leaders to the county.“When my party leader comes here, I’ll welcome him. There is nothing bad in welcoming our leaders in the county. We have to stop divisive politics,” he added. He asked the Head of State to support the county government to ensure it realizes development just like other regions in the country.On his part, President Uhuru assured Samboja that his administration will support him and ensure he realises his development agenda.
