Wiper Democratic Movement party seems to be a sinking ship after it lost one of its fearless lieutenants, Johnson Muthama.

The Machakos senator has ditched the local party and promised to campaign for NASA presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga. He accused Wiper of betraying voters something that has made it impossible to for him to face them for re-election.

"I do not feel that I have the face, anymore, to campaign or face out supporters of Wiper all over because the party has betrayed the people's trust, just like it did in 2013, by [imposing] Governor Alfred Mutua on the people,” Mutua said as quoted by the Star.

This announcement has blurred Kalonzo Musyoka,s political future. His bid for the country’s top seat will not be smooth considering the local opposition he has and still creating.

The lesser he is supported in Ukambani, the lesser bargaining power he will have come 2022. His fellow competitors in NASA have the numbers and some good home support. Musalia Mudavdi has admirable numbers while Isaac Ruto is growing politically.

The Mutua threat is still a thorn and the departure of Muthama is not good news in Ukambani. Musyoka will have to find an able replacement before it is too late.
