Wiper Party leaders have intensified calls for their boss Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka to be fronted by National Super Alliance (NASA) to battle it out with Jubilee ahead of the August polls, reports KTN.
The former vice president, who met aspirants from all over the nation, insisted that he is the right man to smoke out President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto during the forthcoming general polls.
The Ukambani political kingpin made the declaration amidst calls by a section of leaders who defected from Wiper for him to contest as an independent candidate when that time comes.
According to analysts, Kalonzo’s move to go solo will give President Uhuru Kenyatta an advantage over the opposition since there will be division of votes among the leaders who united to form the alliance.
The remarks of the legislator come a few days before NASA names its flag bearer in an event slated for Thursday at Uhuru Park. NASA principals have insisted that there is no fallout within the political outfit despite taking long to name flag bearer, which has attracted mixed reactions from different factions.Last week, Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto joined the alliance, a move that shifted the political situation of this nation.
