East African Legislative Assembly MP Peter Mathuki has said that leaders of Wiper party have no intentions to bolt of out of the National Super Alliance (NASA) before the next general polls.
Speaking at a rally in Mavoko stadium, Athi River town on Saturday Mathuki said that time has come for the opposition to rise to power adding that Wiper Kalonzo is the best bet for NASA.
He also affirmed that Wiper and NASA are inseparable as the next general polls draw closer. "Wiper is in Nasa to stay," he said as quoted by Star.
Mathuki, Mavoko MP Patrick Makau and Kathania MP Robert Mbui agreed to form a splinter group under the name Wiper Express to push for the former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka to be named the opposition’s flag bearer when that time comes.
According to the leaders, Kalonzo is the right man to take over President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto in August.
"Wiper express is a team to push Kalonzo to State House. The Wiper leader must be given the opportunity to be NASA’s torchbearer," Makau said.
On his part, Mbui asked residents to join Wiper to ensure Kalonzo becomes next President of this nation. “We want to take Kalonzo to Statehouse, let us register people to Wiper,” the party organising secretary said.
