Wiper Democratic Movement party Secretary General Hassan Omar has faulted Ukambani leaders for branding Wiper as a communal entity.
The Mombasa Senator has rubbished the tough stand on the NASA lineup from Akamba leaders who are using Wiper to achieve their demands.
He singled out Leader of Minority in the National Assembly Francis Nyenze as the most vocal leader from the region. He however said Nyenze’s stand represent Kamba land and not the Wiper party.
"We appreciate that our party has a significant support base in Ukambani, but that's not to say it's a Kamba party. I highly suspect he (Nyenze) was speaking for Kambas because he doesn't speak for the party. The fact of the matter is that we made the ultimate sacrifice for the greater good and we were satisfied that it was the best thing to do," Omar said.
Leaders from this region led by Hon. Nyenze said that the community was not honored in the power sharing agreement in NASA. They were not happy after ODM’s Raila Odinga wsa chosen as the flag bearer with their point man Kalonzo Musyoka picked to deputize him.
However, Musyoka has dismissed their complaints and assured them that he was ready to support anyone for the sake of Kenya.
