A senior Wiper politician has warned his party leader Kalonzo Musyoka against plans of being sworn in alongside opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Victor Swanya Ogeto, one of party's Vice Chairpersons, said Kalonzo should abandon plans to take oath and use other means to resolve the current political stalemate in the country.
Ogeto, who vied for Kitutu Masaba parliamentary seat in last year's elections, urged the Wiper leader to spearhead dialogue with Jubilee because swearing himself in would cause chaos across the country, which could greatly dent his legacy.
"I urge you to ask you to spearhead dialogue. We are interested in dialogue more than any other issue. Talk among yourselves as principals and agree on dialogue because the swearing in will cause chaos and people will be hurt," he said, as quoted by The Standard.
Ogeto spoke during a closed-door Wiper meeting at Panari Hotel in Nairobi on Wednesday that was led by Kalonzo.
However, most leaders told Kalonzo to stick with opposition leader Raila Odinga and support the swearing-in event slated for January 30.
The meeting that lasted for more than four hours was also attended by party officials, governors, MPs, MCAs among other leaders.
