A Wiper senator has revealed the party's plans for their leader Kalonzo Musyoka ahead of 2022.
Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua says the party is doing all within its means to ensure Kalonzo, a former vice president, wins the 2022 presidential election.
“We will come up with new strategies in order to ensure that come 2022, our party leader Mr Kalonzo Musyoka becomes the next president of Kenya to the benefit of all,” said the senator, as quoted by nation.co.ke.
This comes as the Wiper leaders said Kalonzo would not take oath as the 'people's vice president', escalating the infighting within the key parties that make up the NASA coalition.
Kalonzo, ANC's Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula skipped Raila's controversial swearing-in ceremony about a month ago, creating speculation that the NASA principals were not united.
Although Raila signed an agreement that bars him from running for president again, he is expected to disobey it by offering himself again in 2022. The other three NASA principals are also likely to run for the highest office in the land when President Uhuru Kenyatta retires.
