Calls by a section of MPs from Ukambani that gave Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka a 30-day ultimatum to organise a regional leaders meeting to chant their political destiny of the community has elicited uproar among members of the party.
Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr who is the Wiper deputy chair, his Machakos counterpart Johnstone Muthama and party national organising secretary Robert Mbui dispelled the ultimatum.
The three leaders said that the four MPs did not have any moral responsibility to discuss issues of the party “they ditched”.
The MPs Francis Mwangangi, Joe Mutambu, Richard Makenga and Kisoi Munyao on Sunday asked Kalonzo to convene a meeting for a political dialogue failure to which they will issue a major declaration.
But Mutula Kilonzo said: “The MPs have defected to Jubilee and have no mandate to issue statements regarding Wiper party.” Mediamax quoted him.
