Wiper Democratic Movement party was not invited to be part of President Uhuru Kenyatta's visit of Ukambani region, party chairman David Musila has said.

Musila in a statement on Friday said that Wiper as a party dd not receive any communication from President Uhuru's team as he visit the region.  

The Kitui senator further said that they have no details of Uhuru’s visit and therefore will not be part of it.

“We want to state clearly that Wiper Party is not part of the delegation to welcome Uhuru to Ukambani as earlier stated,” said Musila. “We cannot go on looking for where the President will be during his visit,” added Musila.

Musila however said that Wiper welcomes Uhuru into the region.

He stated that as a party they are not opposed to Uhuru visiting the region. “In fact we urge locals to turn up in large numbers and meet their president,” he said.

President Uhuru tour of Ukambani starts today where he is expected to launch various development projects.

Apart from launching development projects, Uhuru is expected to woe Ukambani locals to support his re-election in next year’s general election.
