Speaking to journalist's at Matungulu Town on  Sunday, Mule claimed that Mutua’s purported Sh50 million roofing project could be a scam to embezzle county coffers.

The MP wondered why it has taken the Machakos governor years before thinking about roofing locals houses.

He accused Mutua of rushing to conduct projects before seeking public participation.

The Wiper MP alleged that Mutua could be seeking money to fund his 2022 presidential campaigns.

“Governor Mutua must know that the county money does not belong to him and should stop using it to gain publicity,” he said as quoted by a local daily.

The MP accused Mutua of starting projects and failing to complete them.

“Eight percent  (80) of projects initiated by governor Mutua have been abandoned despite huge amounts of taxpayer’s money being used on them,” he added.

The lawmaker asked Machakos locals to be wary of the governor claiming that he is focused on his 2022 presidential bid and not serving them.

Mutua’s roofing project has been criticized by other leaders including former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti.

The Machakos governor launched the project in Mwala on Wednesday last week which he said aims to provide locals with modern housing.
