He said Machakos local's patience with governor Mutua has run out and accused the governor of abandoning his duties.

"Governor Alfred Mutua should get serious and stop sideshows or even quit office if he is unable to deliver services," said Makau on Sunday.

The Wiper lawmaker said that Mutua's continued tours across the country are not helping Machakos people noting that residents are frustrated with his leadership which he claimed is based on publicity.

The MP further said that locals blundered by re-electing governor Mutua in last year's general election and asked them to be firm and raise their voices in demand for services.

"It is now upon Machakos people to demand services from the county government as the law stipulates," he said.

Governor Mutua has been under criticism for allegedly engaging in ealry 2022 campaigns.
