A Member of Parliament allied to the Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) has dismissed as "uncalled for" claims by Nasa coalition head of strategy David Ndii that the country should be split.

Speaking during an interview with KTN on Wednesday, Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo added that Ndii was speaking on his own account and ahould not thus be mistaken to be speaking on behalf of the   opposition outfit to which Wiper is an affiliate.

"The calls are actually uncalled for and should not be construed to be from the Nasa coalition. We remain steadfast in our quest for a unitary Kenya," he said.

Maanzo also wondered how the Nasa strategist who hails from Kiambu county could advocate for an agenda that would clearly isolate him should it sail through.

Ndii in a televised interview on Tuesday evening seemed to back up documents shared on social media platforms calling for some parts of the country to secede and insisted that some communities were enjoying undue leadership advantage achieved through rigged elections and dictatorship.

Some of the regions earmarked for the secession agenda includes Turkana, the Western Kenya region including the former Nyanza and Western Provinces, the larger Maasailand region,Lower Eastern and the Coastal region. These would collectively form a country called 'The People's Republic of Kenya' according to the document.
