Kisauni MP-elect Ali Mbogo has assured his constituents that he will fulfill all his pre-election pledges.
Mbogo garnered 34,928 votes against Rashid Bedzimba’s 29, 868.Speaking in Bamburi on Tuesday, Mbogo said he has finally attained his dream of serving Kisauni residents who have suffered under poor leadership for a long time.He, however, criticised Bedzimba for claiming that he did not win the election fairly, and challenged him to file a petition in court if he has evidence to support his allegation.Mbogo appealed to Kisauni residents to focus on developing the constituency and pay less attention to political rhetoric.“We should not let politics surpass our development agenda. We have been yearning for a different dedicated leadership so let us embrace it,” he said.He said his main agenda once he assumes office will be to fight drug abuse among youth, improve the constituency’s sanitation and education levels, as well as alleviate poverty by improving the living the standards of residents.“We all understand what is ahead of us, we simply need to work towards achieving our development goals and not wasting time politicking,” added Mbogo.He attributed the emergence of juvenile gangs in the area to low education levels and unemployment, adding that he will soon initiate forums at the grassroots where youth can discuss issues affecting them and how to solve them.“I want to remind Kisauni locals how their former legislature the late Karisa Maitha used to work and how he served his people,” he noted.
