Kathiani MP Robert Mbui has asked Governor Alfred Mutua to tell Kenyans where he intends to source Sh18 Billion for his 2022 presidential campaigns.
Mbui says that Mutua’s recent revelation that he will use about Sh Billion to the campaign should send a signal to Machakos residents.
Speaking to journalists at Parliament buildings in Nairobi on Thursday, the MP said that Mutua has no financial muscles to afford Sh18 Billion.
He said that the embattled governor needs to be investigated and audited over his revelations that he will use Billions in his 2022 campaigns.
“I think Mutua should be the first person to undergo the lifestyle audit over his revelation that he has a budget of 18 Billion for 2022,” he said.
Mbui also called for investigation and audit of Machakos county taxpayers coffers.
“We need to know whether our money is safe,” he said, adding that Mutua’s 2022 bid is a dream that will not come true.
Mbui said that Mutua has no political muscles to win in 2022.
He added that the Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader's political career is done and dusted following his election nullification.
“He (Mutua) should stop sideshows and prepare for his political exit,” he said.
Mutua has said that his 2022 presidential bid is unstoppable.
