An apprehensive Wiper MP whose identity has not been disclosed has said that the party was not involved in the formation of the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
The lawmaker, whose identity has not been disclosed told the Star that the former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga and his allies did not consult the leaders of the party before the formation of the resistance movement which aims at pushing for what they term as the third and final liberation of this nation from poor leadership.
The vocal lawmaker claimed that Raila has hatched a plot to lock out Kalonzo, a former vice president from the contesting for the nation’s top post in 2022.
“The formation of the National Resistance Movement was at first tailored to axe Kalonzo because someone would say NRM is a different political outfit,” the MP said as quoted by the local daily.
This comes after leaders from Ukambani said that they have embarked on pushing for the endorsement of Kalonzo presidential candidature ahead of the 2022 election.
“We are preparing our brand Kalonzo Musyoka for President for 2022 as per the agreement of NASA because we want to safeguard our place in that alliance and five years is a short time,” Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana was reported as saying.
