Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo has asked Kenyans to forget about electoral reforms should the NASA coalition collapse.
Maanzo says reforms can only be realized if the principal's Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula remain together.
Speaking to journalists when he inspected development projects in Makueni town on Friday, Maanzo said NASA’s agenda cannot be achieved fully if partners walk separate ways.
He said the coalition made a promise to Kenyans hence it will be unfortunate, embarrassing and betrayal if the same is not fulfilled.
The Wiper legislator said NASA principals can still overcome the challenges being experienced in the coalition and fulfill their promises.
He said the country will remain divided if NASA splits and affiliate parties walk separate ways.
“Electoral reforms and justice can only be achieved if NASA leaders and others across the divide are united,” he said as quoted by a local daily.
Maanzo said there is still hope for electoral reforms and justice if Raila unites the NASA coalition.
He said the 2022 general election will be meaningless if key institutional reforms are not realized.
Maanzo asked NASA principals to take advantage of working with Jubilee to push President Kenyatta’s government for reforms.
There have been claims that NASA is on the brink of collapsing days after Raila signed a pact with Uhuru Kenyatta to push for national unity.
Cracks in the coalition continue to emerge following the ouster of Bungoma senator as the senate minority leader.
A section of NASA affiliate parties have been calling for eviction of ODM from NASA on grounds that the Orange party is wreaking havoc in the coalition.
On Thursday, Raila and Kalonzo maintained that NASA is united despite the internal issues rocking.
ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi who is also a NASA principal has made it clear that NASA will not collapse.
Mudavadi argues that the Alliance is for Kenyans and not individual politicians and that ANC will remain committed to electoral justice should other parties opt to quit the NASA coalition.
