Patrick Makau (Mavoko) said on Thursday outside Parliament buildings that Mbadi no longer qualifies to represent the opposition NASA as the National Assembly's Minority Leader since "ODM has joined Jubilee and is part of government".

Makau who spoke in company of 12 MPs affiliated to Amani National Congress, Ford Kenya and Wiper Party said the recent meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga held at Harambee House where Raila agreed to work with government automatically disqualified ODM as a NASA affiliate party.

"ODM is in government and NASA has to appoint another Minority Leader," the lawmaker, a close ally to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka said.

"I am ready to take up the position as dispense my roles as required by the law."

There has been antagonism within the NASA fraternity following Raila's meeting with Uhuru last Friday.

The meeting which NASA co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula claim they did not suction threatens to split the country's opposition coalition with some MP calling for its dissolution.

Mbadi was elected on an ODM ticket and is Raila close ally in NASA.
