The appointment of Kenyan legislators to represent the country is yet to be done after a section of leaders aligned to Jubilee led by National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale came forth with their guns blazing after Wiper leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka’s son Kennedy was among those listed.
Two leaders from Ukambani have blamed Jubilee over the stalled operations at the assembly. Matungulu legislator Stephen Mule and outgoing EALA MP Peter Mathuki have said Jubilee should take the blame for the issue after the Kenyan side failed to reach an agreement over the same.
Mathuki, who is the running mate of former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti, said that business has been brought to a halt after the legislators failed to present the team to represent Kenya there.
“As we speak now, the Parliament of East Africa cannot proceed because Kenya has not given names of her representatives to the assembly and that tells you that the country is obviously not holding together and those are bad signs,” said Mathuki, as quoted by Standard.
He was supported by Mule who said National Assembly Majority leader is among those who ensured that process of nominating members to the house was not successful.
“Honorable Duale has been the stumbling block in this whole matter because he has vested political interest in who gets nominated to the regional assembly,” he said.
