Mulyungi argues that Kalonzo has been a political friend to the former Prime Minister  and deserves his support in 2022.

Addressing the public in Mwingi town on Sunday, Mulyungi said Raila has a political debt to pay to the former Vice President.

He said Kalonzo sacrificed his 2013 and 2017 presidential  bid for the sake of Raila.

Mulyungi noted that the Wiper leader deserves support, adding that Raila should not abandon him even if they part ways.

“Our appeal is to Raila Amollo Odinga to stand by his word and support Kalonzo in 2022 as he promised,” the Wiper  MP said.

The  legislator said the Kamba community has been rallying behind Raila all this time despite him losing in elections.

“As a community we have never given up supporting   the ODM  Party leader  and it is his turn to reciprocate and grant us his support in 2022,” he said.

Mulyungi while lauding the Friday meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga said it is good for the country to move forward.

He, however, asked Raila to use the opportunity and champion for electoral reforms in the country.

“Raila should not abandon the push for reforms and must also engage with his colleagues so that the country can move forward together,” Mulyungi said.

Mulyungi said he supports the re-union so long as it can bare fruits in terms of electoral reforms and justice.

President Kenyatta’s surprise meeting with Raila on Friday last week continues to draw reactions with a section of politicians allied to Kalonzo, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula raising reservations.

The politicians argues that they were betrayed by Raila since he did not inform  his co-principal's  of the  planned meeting with the president.
