Wiper Democratic Movement party has finally expelled seven rebels, after they decamped to rival political parties.
Wiper secretary general Hassan Omar said the seven confirmed to the party's disciplinary committee, that the Jubilee party had appointed them to the 2017 re-election campaign team, a clear indication of decamping from the Kalonzo Musyoka-led party.
The defectors include: Machakos county governor Dr Alfred Mutua, MPs Regina Ndambuki (Kilome), Joe Mutambu (Mwingi Central), John Munuve (Mwingi North), Kisoi Munyao (Mbooni), Richard Makenga (Kaiti) and nominated MP Bishop Dr Robert Mutemi.
Omar said the rebels defied the party's Constitution, hence the expulsion.
The disciplinary committee comprises of lawyer Haroun Ndubi- chairman, Lilian Omondi, Mutheu Muna, Abubakar Yusuf and Jacob Mutula.
Omar was speaking during Wiper party's 4th National Delegates Conference at Kasarani, Tuesday.
